Nearly 40 Asia-Europe Artists Showcase their Work at the ASEM Cultural Festival 2021

PHNOM PENH: A total of 37 artists from Asia and Europe have presented their work during the ASEM Cultural Festival 2021 at the National Museum. Their works of art are displayed under six main topics such as: Happy Heads, Sahaka Playground, Encountering Culture, The Longest Voyage, Things that Count, and Il Nodo: A Sketch for Hope.

The Art Exhibition of Asia and Europe Culture Festival 2021 has kicked off on Monday attended by the Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Pheung Sakona, Head of the EU Mission to Cambodia Carmen Moreno. The festival reflects the diversity of cultures and artistic exchanges between Asia and Europe.

Director of the Museum Department Chhay Visoth says that the National Museum of Cambodia is very honored that the Event Organizing Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the ASEM team have decided to select Location of the National Museum of Cambodia for the organization of a non-permanent exhibition to celebrate the 13th Asia-Europe Summit. The exhibition is conceived in two parts: online and live in the National Museum of Cambodia.

He says, “As the director of the National Museum, I think that this venue is very suitable for organizing this non-permanent exhibition event, because the National Museum is a place to commemorate a century of great national heritage and remains from French colonial times.”

He has added that these works of arts comprise sculptures, photographs, paintings, jewelry and short films that are reflections of travel and daily life of the artists from these two continents.
